Why the Goddess of Now?

We each have a unique brand of Goddess energy and style of communicating with and from the Feminine Divine. Most of us have grown up in a patriarchal culture, with a male symbol of the Divine, and were never given any feminine references, other than Mary, mother of Jesus, in Catholicism. And even she was portrayed as a go-between.

So, we find ourselves in this day and time and not much has changed. While at the same time, everything has changed. The world is as patriarchal as ever, but we women are no longer content to be seen as the weaker sex. We know there is more to us than the world at large has ever acknowledged and we are ready to stand and be counted. I honestly believe that the only way this change can occur is for each of us to come into the fullness of who we are. We must stop denying the parts of us that society has kept tamped down, so we can own and honor our feminine wisdom and way.

Patriarchy has ruled the world for a very long time. And we have evolved primarily in ways that are masculine: competing, dominating, dividing and conquering, drilling and killing. The imbalance of masculine energy has reduced people to consumers, ‘Likes’ on Facebook, and has us all unwittingly in service to the corporate bottom line, regardless of it’s toll on our planet and people.

As women begin to come more fully into our wholeness – our holiness – we stand ready to add something different to the mix. Not as masculine versions of ourselves, as so many women were forced to do, in order to be accepted as professionals, entering the workforce, starting in the 1960s and 1970s. When we realize that our instinct for inclusion; our capacity for feeling deeply and empathically; our natural inclination to care for and about others; our intuitive abilities; our desire for communication; are not weaknesses but superpowers. The world hasn’t valued these things. Maybe because we haven’t really known how to use them. Or we did but so often, we used them in reaction to someone else’s control or belittling of us, so what we offered looked or sounded distorted. Sometimes we did these things with the best of intentions and from a place of clarity, and the world just wasn’t ready for us. Now, things are different.

I honestly believe that we have reached a tipping point from which there is no going back. At this revolutionary time, we have an opportunity to rise into the fullness of who and what we are and make a positive difference in this world. The very chao that we are witnessing is an invitation to step into our strengths and make a difference. This is not to say that men aren’t capable of using their own feminine energy to support positive change. We are all have both masculine and feminine energy. One has been valued and encouraged, the other has not. The Goddess of Now is here to remind us what we, as women, have to bring to the party. It starts with us. There will never be a better time than Now. As we call forth those parts of us that are wise, courageous and ready to shine, the world will still spin on its axis, but the wobble of imbalance can finally start to level out. Who’s with me? What have we got to lose?

I have a new offering that I’ve been creating with my dear friend and goddess sister, Adela Rubio, based on the graceful guidance of the Goddess of Now. Much more on that coming up in the next few days. I’ll be posting all of the details as soon as we’re ready to launch. In the meantime, there is a Goddess of Now page available on FB, if you’d like to meet others, and join the conversation.

Love,

Jodi
